What was Hossein Salami, Iran’s Iranian driver, killed by Israel? | Conflict

Hossein Salami, who was appointed IRGC management in 2019, among the oldest numbers killed by Israel.

The Iranian elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Hossein Salami was among the Iranian senior officials killed in the wide air strikes of Israel that began on Thursday.

Long -term top leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei trusted person in Salami ranks in Iran, becoming the head of Irgc in 2019, when he replaced Mohammad Ali Jafari.

Like many of his contemporaries, salami -forming years came during the Iran -Iraq War, which twisted neighbors against each other and from 1980 to 1988 killed hundreds of thousands of people.

Salami began his IrGC career during the war, and it is reported that he has fought in several battles and held leading positions.

His war experience gave him a sign of legitimacy, which was one of the reasons he could then take off through the rows of Irgc. Until 2005, Salami was appointed Commander of the IRGC Aviation and Space Force, where he was responsible for the development of ballistic missiles and drones before he was appointed Deputy Chief of the IRGC in 2009.

Sanctions

As is the case with many of the upper echelons of the Iranian military apparatus, the United States in 2007 was imposed on sanctions for his role in rocket development. He also punished the United Nations Security Council for the same reason last year.

Salami was also subject to Canadian sanctions for his role in antigovernant protest in 2022, while the European Union was sanctioned for his involvement in drone supply to Russia for military operations in Ukraine.

During the Iran leadership, Iran reinforced the so-called “resistance axis”-the groups of united countries and groups throughout the Middle East, which were funded or organized in coordination with IRGC, including Syria in Bashar Al-Assad, in Lebanon’s Lebanese group Hezbollah, a Palestinian group in Houth, Yemen Houthi.

“We will fight them (our enemies) at a global level, not just one place,” Salami was quoted. “Our war is not a local war. We have plans to overcome the world’s superpower.”

Death

“With hearts filled with sorrow and sorrow, we mourn the unjustified martyr martyr of loyal and steadfast commander, Major General Hossein Salami, the chief commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps,” said Iran’s news agency in a statement.

Salami died in an air strike, the Iranian media reports. Many of Iran’s highest military persons and prominent nuclear scientists were killed in the attacks. Iran has responded by attacking Israel with ballistic missiles – the weapon’s salami played such an important role in the development of the country.

After Salami’s murder, Ahmad Wahid was announced his successor.

“At human level, you will have shortcomings when you murder people who decide the military strategy, he works freely in multiple languages, the command has personal networks and charisma,” Al Jazeera told Reza H Akbari, the Middle East and North African program program manager in war and peace reports.

“But it is difficult to destroy the existing structure, which is related to the existing knowledge of nuclear weapons and the command chain in the country’s military and security apparatus.”
