Prime Minister Mark Karny once again defended the Indian Prime Minister’s invitation to G7’s meeting in Alberta, saying it makes sense if the world’s most populated country is the leader of the world when there are “big challenges” to discuss.
Karny commented on Wednesday after a meeting with his Caucus, who told reporters that Narendra’s fashion was “a bad idea”.
Canada -India’s relationship has been shaking since former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and RCMP claimed that Indian agents were involved in the killing of Canadian Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was shot outside the Sikh Temple in 2023.
Nijjar and others have called for an independent Sikh homeland in northern India, called Khalistan, whose modi government has vigorously opposed and condemned as a national security threat.
“We have been successful in India in a bilateral sense. They are good if they have a legal process between law enforcement agencies,” Carnie said in a French interview with Radio-Canada, referring to some possible cooperation between Canadian police and the Indian authorities about Nijjar’s murder.
“The BC is the process of killing a Canadian citizen that will continue. India knows that,” Patrice Roy said.
Asked if he was talking to fashion about Nijjar and the ongoing police investigation, Karny said, “Yes, I have.”
Karney said Canada wants to discuss energy security, critical minerals and the development of artificial intelligence – three of his priorities for this meeting of world leaders – and it is “difficult to happen without India.”
Canada has the G7 Presidency this year and has “responsibility for a table that can discuss great challenges,” he said.
The Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday confirmed that leaders from all G7 countries, along with Brazil, South Africa, India, United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Ukraine, Mexico and Australia, as well as NATO Secretary General, UN Secretary General, Secretary General of the European Union and Head of the World Bank.
Speaking to journalists in Ottawa, BC Liberal Parliament MP Sukh Dhaliwal said he had met Prime Minister Mark Karnia on Wednesday morning to express concern that his voters are with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Mod, invited to the upcoming G7 summit.
Meanwhile, BC MP Sukh Dhaliwal told reporters that he had met Karnia at the beginning of Wednesday to express what he said was voters’ dissatisfaction with the decision to include fashion.
“The RCMP has made it clear that a Canadian citizen’s murder in Canadian soil involves reliable evidence that Indian agents are involved in the murder of a Canadian citizen,” Dhaliwal said. “It’s a bad idea” to include fashion, he said.
Canada expelled some Indian diplomats After Nijar’s allegations were made public. The government has announced that there is a “link” among four Indian citizens arrested and accused of murdering Nijjar and the Government of India.
Dhaliwal said Karney is “very strong” on the matter and will represent Sikh’s concerns about India’s intervention and cross -border crime when talking to fashion.
“I say it’s not a good idea, but now he’s invited. We have to move forward,” he said.
Another liberal BC MP Gurbux also said his voters were “concerned” for the invitation.
In addition to Nijjar’s killing, India also identified India as the best drug in Canada.
The Commission reviewed a intelligence that suggests that Indian custom trustees may have secretly provided financial support to various Canadian politicians to try to get more Indian candidates.
The report also found that India had used “misinformation” to continue its goals in Canada.
Karina Gould, a Liberal Parliament, said formerly minister and management rival, that human rights should be on the agenda when Karney meets fashion.
She also criticized the invitation of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, who will not participate.
“I understand why they were invited. Part of the diplomacy is these conversations – you don’t close them the door,” said Gould. “But we also stand for values that are important to the Canadians.”
Liberal deputies Yasir Naqvi, Ahmed Hussen, Rob Olifant and Yan Baker were asked to share their thoughts on Prime Minister Mark Carn on Wednesday, calling on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman from Saudi Arabia to visit the upcoming G7.
The invitation of fashion is a sign that Carney may want to reset her relationship with India after a particularly “alarming” period under the authority of the last liberal government, said Fens Hampson, a professor of international affairs at Karleton University.
“It sends a positive signal,” Hampsson said in an interview with CBC News.
And there are signs that India may be open to zooming because Modi’s invitation “immediately” said Hampson, unlike Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, who needed days to consider whether to go or not.
India is the world’s fifth largest economy, the “largest regional actor” in the Indo-Clus Ocean region and an increasingly important player in the global scale, and bringing Modi here to the G7 is the way Kārnie points out that he uses Canada’s foreign policy in another direction, Hampson said.
He said that a multilateral gathering such as the G7 “gives the Prime Minister a certain cover” from local critics.
“It would be very different if it were an invitation to a bilateral meeting of government heads in Ottawa. At least it can be done in the G7 cape,” said Hampson.
Pressure to diversify the economy is the reason why other liberal Members were resistant to Carnia and his decision to include fashion.
Canada is facing the economic “crisis” with US relations in a low place, International Trade Minister Maninder Sidh said, and Canada has to “work together” and “develop some issues” with India.
MP Yasir Naqvi, Secretary of the Sidhu Parliament, said “very serious statements about out -of -court murders have no excuse,” but said the meeting was an opportunity for both leaders to “get involved” on a broader issue.
“This only happens if there is a relationship between our governments,” Naqvi said.
“We have to work with India,” Conservative leader Pierre Poilieve said when asked if it was useful to come to Canada for the Indian Prime Minister, because his government’s role in killing the BC is being investigated.
“Canada is trying to open a relationship door and say,” We need to highlight our trade very much, “the parliamentary MP Rob Oliphant, the Parliamentary Secretary of the Foreign Minister, added.
“The message to the world is that Canada is a dynamic trading partner.”
Conservative leader Pierre Poiliev previously said this week that India is “one of the largest and fastest growing economies” in the world. India is a promising potential market for Canadian liquefied natural gas and nuclear technology, among other products, said Poilievre, and this type of trade depends on improving relationships.
“We have to work with India … in trade and security,” he said. “The invitation is required.”
NDP MP Heather McPherson joined colleagues on Mount Parliament to object to some foreign leaders invited to the G7 Summit Albert, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, over his country’s possible links to the killing of 2023 BC Sikh Leadh Hardeep Singh.
Meanwhile, Heather McPherson, a Member of the NDP, said the inclusion of fashion was “deeply alarming”.
“This government is consistently and very clearly chosen by profits and economics on human rights, over people,” she said. “Profit over people. It’s their mantra.”
