Marissa Lawrence, wife of Jaguars star quarterback, thanks fans for their support after player takes brutal hit


Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence left Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans with a concussion after a brutal hit by linebacker Azees Al-Sharar.

Lawrence was down for a few moments before he could walk to the cart and get off the field. Mack Jones played the rest of the game and Jacksonville lost to Houston 23-20.

Marissa LawrenceTrevor’s wife, thanked those who reached out to her.

“Thank you for all the texts and prayers,” she wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories. “It’s just a matter of time to make sure he’s OK and getting healthy, but we appreciate all the love and support.”

The Jaguars quarterback also posted a health update on X.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out/prayed for me. I’m home and feeling better. It means a lot, thank you all,” he wrote to X.

A hit against Lawrence led to a big brawl between players from both teams. Al Shair was ejected for contact, while Jaguars cornerback Jarian Jones was ejected for his role in the fight.

“It was just instinct,” he said, using Jaguar website. “It didn’t feel like a clean hit, so just stick with him. I saw him slide and then I saw the hit. I just knew it was wrong. I knew it was a dirty play.”
