Jersey, nj – Wednesday is exactly one year, until the FIFA World Cup 2026 starts in North America, and the party was launched in the state where the finals will be played.
This is the first time since 1994, when the continent plays the most popular sporting event in the world, and Phil Murphy New Jersey will be the final site.
The Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford will hold eight matches, including five rounds in the group and games in both 32 and 16 rounds.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday at the Liberty State Park Jersey City, the official 2026 World Cup festival location, Murphy predicted that the final of New York giants and jet houses will be “the most watched event in human history”.
And for those involved, “Metlife’s experience will be outstanding,” said Murphy.
“It will be safe and secure, easy to get in and out, a great experience for fans when they are in the stadium,” Murphy continued.
“This is what it is about. Preparing for a bunch of preparations and is now able to show your vision and get our reaction, which was anxiety, energy, interest. That’s what it is about,” added Alex Lasy, Executive Director of the Nynj Entrepreneur Committee.

Liberty State Park is home to a huge view of the New York city horizon and the statue of freedom while it is filled with greenery, making it an ideal place for fans to gather. So, although Murphy will undoubtedly be in all eight World Cup games played in Metlife, there is another responsibility to make sure that fans are entertained for the other 96 contests played in the other 15 host stadiums.
“The fan festival, it will exceed the words. Twenty -two screens, 45,000 capacity. When we are not metal, we will look here. These experiences are extraordinary. It will be no exception,” Murphy added.

“When you look at people’s ability to get here from New York and New Jersey, the iconic horizon and view from it, and when you just think about where to put the party, it’s nowhere to be,” said Lasy. “It’s a unique place to put on the most iconic fan festival we are watching. To do it in New Jersey with New York’s view, it combines a partnership.”
