On Saturday’s military parade, members of the country came from all corners of the United States, and Fox News Digital spoke to several of them to hear why they had traveled from near and far to attend a one -time event.
Some of the participants were locals, while others drove hundreds of miles to see an event that honor the 250th birthday of the army. Saturday was also the Flag Day, celebrating every year to commemorate the adoption of the American flag in 1777, as well as the birthday of President Donald Trump.
“For me, this is a sense of patriotism,” said one participant from the Baltimore region. “We celebrate Flag Day, the 250th anniversary of the Army – by chance it is also the birthday of Donald Trump.”

Visitors from all over the country who spoke to Fox News Digital said they were there to honor our troops, but many said they also support Trump there.
“There is no better time to arrive at the DC to support our military forces than when we have a president who really respects our military forces – the president, such as Donald Trump,” said one member who left Florida to be in the parade. “There is no better time to come.”
“We are very patriotic people, so I think it’s important to come here and just observe it, just enjoy it,” said another member who had traveled from Kentucky north. “It’s Trump’s birthday, so it’s good,” they added.

“It’s about my sixth or seventh protest since Trump is in office,” said one opposite member who was in the parade. “I feel that (Trump) is trying to enter, not to celebrate the army. I don’t like it as he is, uh, putting in our military at the forefront as if it was celebrating the threat.”
