The deadly Air India crash involving the Boeing 787 Dreamliner Aircraft has left the air industry experts describing the disaster as “incomprehensible”, taking into account the aircraft’s safety register.
Air India Flight 171 crashed in the Indian city of Ahmedabad on Thursday shortly after taking off, more than 240 people on board.
According to Vidhi Chaudhary, a top police officer who spoke to the Associated Press, at least 240 people were killed, and this number includes medical students in a medical school hostel crashed.
The emergency aircraft was a Boeing 787 Dreamliner: a wide, twin engine aircraft that has never been involved in such a serious incident.
It is a completely different aircraft than another Boeing aircraft, 737 Max, which was involved in a number of deadly disasters before justified worldwide to search the key flight sensor system and related software that repeatedly forced the aircraft to be dangerous.
These planes are now in operation, and like dreamers, airlines are flying around the world, including Canadian Airlines.
“787 Dreamliner has been an airplane that has been operating for many years, with no problems in large states around the world,” said Hasan Chessid, president and executive director of non -profit flight security funds.
“So, from an aircraft design and safety point of view (it) is really safe, and it is puzzled to see that this accident is happening at this time.”
Earlier on Thursday, the Ahmedabad Police Chief GS Malik told The Associated Press that there seems to be no survivors in the aircraft crash who carry more than 240 people.
However, Chaudhary and Indian Interior Minister Amit Chess have since confirmed that there is one survivor from the plane.
All Indian Medical Association Federation, a state institution representing doctors, said at least five students were killed on Earth and 50 others were injured.

Although this is the first major incident with 787 Dreamliner, there have been previous problems with the plane.
Last year, federal security officials needed check checks for cab seats after one of the jet airplanes entered diving when the captain’s seat was hiding forward without warning and disconnected the autopilot system.
The 787 fleet was also grounded in 2013, when the lithium -ion batteries used for lightweight and faster charging were overheated and in some cases caused fires.
But John Gradek, a professor of aviation management at the University of McGill, says such issues are part of the use of aircraft, not something that concerns travelers.
“This is a mechanical device, it’s not something magically put on the ground and we fly it, and hopefully we cross our fingers, nothing will happen,” he said. “So the process we need to maintain and to ensure the integrity of these mechanical devices is intense.”
He added: “This aircraft has been a great example of a risk reduction in the last 20 years, and ensuring that the aircraft has gained the opportunity to safely execute its missions.”
The Indian Aviation Authority said the aircraft made a Mayday call on Thursday, signaling the emergency, but then did not respond to the calls made by airport traffic control.
This call will probably be one of the factors investigators deal with during their emergency probe, and US -based cosmic aviation security consultant Anthony Brickhouse is used in the US emergency investigation.
“At the end of the process, we are trained to answer three questions,” said Brickhouse, who previously worked with the US National Transport Safety Council. “These three questions are: what happened, why did it happen, and most importantly – what can be done to prevent it from recurring?”
He said the investigation deals with people related to incident, such as pilots and air traffic controls, the environment in which the airplane flew similarly in the weather and at the airport, and the machine itself.
This includes analysis of the voice recorder of the flight and cab.
Gradek says the investigation will be crucial to determining what caused the accident and excluding it as a “booeing problem”, especially after previous concerns about the aircraft manufacturer.
Last month, the US Department of Justice concluded an agreement with Boeing, which removed prosecution from the table for allegedly misleading regulators for 737 Max jet before the Lion air crash in 2018 and the Ethiopian airline in the 2019 crash.
The company agreed to pay or invest more than $ 1.1 billion, including an additional $ 445 million for families of crashes, canceling the risk of criminal conviction, which would have threatened the status of a company as a federal contractor.
“What you want to make sure is that always when you have a Boeing incident, the Boeing accident in this case (is) that you quickly get to the main cause… And that you make sure the public understands what this main reason is and don’t be afraid to point your fingers on yourself,” said Gradex.
Chahids say it is understandable after the plane crash so that people are cautious when moving through the air, but stressed that 787 Dreamliner is a safe aircraft and has flew for years – the first flight was in 2009, adding that the same statement can be said for most of the flight.
“There are thousands of flights to fly every day without any problems around the world,” he said.
“So I think it is definitely a moment of reflection for passengers, but it is also important to note that we have a very safe air transport system.”
Among the 40.6 million flights in 2024, only seven were fatal, according to the International Air Transport Association’s report on the Security Association.
The way Brickhouse says is a proof of this type of travel for safety.
“If you get to the airport and your plane is located, you must trust everything is fine,” he said. “I always tell people when you get to the airport, the safest part of the trip is actually over.”
