Oscar winner Zoe Saldiña’s magazine People said on Tuesday night that her film Academy Award was using the pronouns of “they/they”.
“We have it in my office and my Oscar is a level of gender equality,” Saldaña saidadding that she considers the statuette a “trans”.
Earlier this year, the 46 -year -old Galaxy Guardians actress won her first Academy Award for the best actress in the controversial musical drama “Emilia Pérez”. The film followed the Mexican cartel driver looking for a gender relocation operation to avoid the past of his cartel.

Emily Pérez also boasted the first open transgender Oscar nominee for the best actress with Karl Sofía Gascón as the hero of the name. Gascón did not win the prize eventually.
Saldaña is not the first actress to claim that her prize is not a binary. Actress Jamie Lee Kurt’s first Oscar statuette referred to “they/they” in honor of her transgender for a child Ruby in an interview with Today’s show in 2023.
“Here they are! Supporting my daughter Ruby, I have them/they/they/they,” said in Kertiss’s video, pulling out their Oscar prize.
Kurt repeated how her award was in De-Gender in an interview with The View in 2024.

“It lives in my house, I have removed it. I have a trans daughter, and there is no genitalia on it, so it lives in my office. And I put googly eye to dedicate to” everything, everywhere, all at once “and I put the pace button just to make sure someone is understandable.”
Kurt won his first Oscar for his supporting role in the movie “Everything Everywhere everywhere”.
